This is ALL the files I used to completely convert the Sidewinder X1 into a usable, reliable printer. 1. Convert the Extruder and Mosquito. This is easy. Yank everything out, replace it with new parts. I replaced the Heater and Thermistor with Slice branded versions. I also used the mosquito fan for 24v power. 2. The conversion of the Mosquito causes a few issues. One issue is that the X won't hit the end stop anymore. I solved this by adding a small spacer to the Extruder chassis so it hits the Endstop first. This piece allows you to attach a square nut to trigger the sensor. 3. Another issue caused by the conversion of the Mosquito is the Fan duct. I used a fan duct from Thingiverse, specifically part 3989544. 4. The Duet requires some modifications. You need to print the MKS adapter for the board to fit properly. Also, print some wire savers. Other than that, it's straightforward. If you want to use the stock end stops, which I highly recommend, you'll need to re-pin the plugs. The POWER is in the center on the Duet. To make them all work, connect the three power wires and plug them into the 5v pin on the Duet's expansion header. Refer to the Duet's install page for a pinout. Other than the Endstops, you can unplug the old and plug it into the new without much hassle. This rebuild is tough, so manage around the ribbon cables carefully. I did it in stages. First, I installed the Mosquito and BMG as a unit. I got that working on the stock board first before moving on to the rest of the conversion. The BMG and Mosquito are easy to convert, and this is an essential update for the Sidewinder X1. The worst part about the Sidewinder is its Cloned Hotend. Enjoy. I remixed the following files: For the PanelDue Case to mount to the front of the X1; 1976962 For the Hotend cooling fan; 3989544 The rest I created myself.
