EDIT Version 2 is now uploaded with significant enhancements. A request had been made to extend the ribbon cover further to the right in order to better conceal the connector. Upon reviewing the original STL file, a peculiar anomaly was discovered at the bottom surface, which became apparent when attempting to print at an extremely low layer height (.08mm). The resulting shape of the first layer appeared distorted and uneven. This issue has been rectified by trimming off the irregularity, ensuring a smooth, level surface. The cover design is based on a remix of Crossfire3D's original version, with notable modifications to better support the ribbon cable. A strategic addition was made to the slot area to provide enhanced stability for the cable, utilizing a clever combination of materials to achieve optimal results. Additionally, a piece of tape supplied by Artillery was strategically placed on the backside of the cover to further secure the ribbon cable in place. In designing this updated version, careful consideration was given to the orientation in which it should be printed. It is highly recommended to print the cover with the left side facing upwards, allowing for external support from the bed to the ribbon slot only. This configuration minimizes the need for internal supports and ensures a smooth, unobstructed printing process. This updated design seamlessly integrates with stock hot end parts, but may present challenges if a larger heatbreak fan has been installed. Users who have made this modification are advised to consult the third picture above for clearance information to ensure a successful print.
