Artillery Sidewinder X2 - X Axis Linear Rail Mount for StealthBurner + Orbiter V2.0
thingiverse
I made this adapter for mounting a Voron Stealthburner to a Sidewinder x2 with linear rail mod, in order to print high grade materials, replacing the original parts and keeping them assembled. The Voron Stealthburner has a great design and allows you to mount a huge variety of hotends. - https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-Stealthburner - Orbiter Stealthburner mount download https://github.com/elcrni/Voron-Mods/tree/main/Orbiter_2.0_SB_CW2_Enclosed - Orbiter mount tips and general infos https://www.orbiterprojects.com/orbiter-v2-0/ This design weights less than the original one, I suggest to print it with a CF material in order to resist at high temps if you are printing filaments that require it (PACF will be great), the most heated part is the lower one that gets closer to the heatbed in the first layers. I made a first one made of petg, just to mount the Orbiter 2.0 and the Dragon Hotend, It worked fine but started to soften in the lower part during a 17h ABS print. I suggest you to split the stl model and print the two parts indipendently, having the best possible quality, and planarity of the contact surface without any warping. The pcb holder for the moment is the same as 3DBG Design, I had to increase the lenght of the spacer of 5mm because the cables where a bit pushed on the body. You can find it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5380374 I liked how patsp kept the lower V-slot wheel, having more precise printhead movements, but I moved the printhead a little bit higher to have it more balanced on the linear rail. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4597994 You will need: - x1 400mm Linear Rail MGN12H - x11 m3 threaded inserts, Ruthex has a really good build quality (insert lenght 5.7mm) -x2 m3 short inserts for the original probe, or you can simply cut the "not threaded part" of the std, helping the insertion with a bolt as shown in the images - x7 m3x8 bolts for the plates and linear rail - x2 m3x25 bolts - 2 plastic strips - I suggest you to buy a X belt tensioner, to make the belt tensioning process easier, this one has a good build quality https://www.amazon.it/dp/B096ZZSKWK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Steps: 1. Insert all the threaded inserts 2. Connect the two plates with x3 m3x8 bolts 3. Mount the stock probe sensor 4. Connect the plate to the linear rail 5. Insert the bolt and the V-Slot Wheel with the eccentric nut, positioning it at the right distance 5. Attach the belt with the plastic strips and check the tension. 6. Follow the StealthBurner assembly instructions and mount the Printhead 7. Mount the pcb on the support, connect the cables and the screw it to the two inserts on the right. The .stl is already the V2 design, the one in the pictures is the first prototype, now I improved some parts to make it lighter and stiffer, and improved some tolerances. Any advice for further improvements is welcome. Hope you like it and find it helpful.
