E3D Hemera upgrade hardware for Artillery sidewinder X2 (AS-X2). Version 3.0 03/23 1) Changed the fan duct to the popular spaceship design but with a stronger mount. For me this is much improved over previous duct. I was able to do an excellent quality benchy in 49 minutes. 2) Moved the probe to the front of the Hemera with a new mount. 3) Added an optional mount for bltouch. Caution! The wire colors (in the one I ordered from Amazon) in the connector cable were reversed from the standard. This caused me to burn out the first one. It also shorts out the 5 volt rail and could damage the motherboard. Note the ground outputs from the 5 terminal bl touch must be connected together to work with the 4 pin output of the asx2 Pcb. Version 2.1 03/23 1) Added customized fan duct to better center duct in y direction, and added mounting points for LEDs. 2) Adjusted fan duct mount to better center fan duct in X direction 3) Carefully removed a piece of PCB mount to allow using a jst connector for LEDs 4) Discovered that Klipper supports neo-pixel LEDs. Can connect 5 ground wire to top pin (1), 5v to bottom pin (5), and control to second pin (2). Setup per online tutorials, and Klipper docs Version 2.0 01/22/23 1)Removed unused touch sensor appendage 2)Adjusted hemera position so that the travel 0-300 X, and 0-300 Y matches edges of build plate 3) Modified ribbon stress relief to allow full motion of x-axis 4) Combines touch sensor and fan mount 5) Eliminated new fan duct in favor of original that that works better.See link below REQUIRED PARTS: 1) jst-xh 2 & 4 pin terminals, housings, crimps and crimping tool. 2)jst-vh 2 pin terminal, crimps and housing 3)24 pin ribbon connector from alliexpress 4)Circuit board from JLBPCB. See link below. 5)button head m3 screws nuts and washers 6)2 m4x30mm screws and nuts 7)piece of felt with adhesive backing from home depot 8)40x15 24v fan 9)Heater with long wire from Alliexpress or crimp splices to lengthen heater wires. 10)Heat shrink tubing, used to extend thermister leads Recommended: spare probe, volcano nozzle, heater block, thermister and heater with long wire (order from Alliexpress) PRINTING: Print fan duct. Print other parts (fixture is optional) ASSEMBLY: 1)Assemble circuit board. Print fixture to hold ribbon cable accurately in place during the start of solder operation. 2)Attach circuit board to mounting bracket. Use #4 (us) or m3 (metric) insulating washers to protect PCB from nuts. 3)Attach hemera to mounting bracket. Use washers to make sure sure screw length into hemera is 3mm +/- 0.25 to avoid damage. Applies to all screws into hemera 4)Attach hemera/bracket assembly to AS-X2 printer 5)Attach fan/probe bracket to using m4 screws (4mm nuts can be press fit) 6)Attach fan and fan duct assembly to bracket. 7)Attach probe to fan/probe bracket 8)Attach ribbon cable to circuit board 9)Attach piece of felt to mounting bracket and screw in stress relief thus locking ribbon cable in place 10)Shorten fan and hemera cables. 11)Either lengthen probe cable or obtain a short four pin extension. 12)lengthen thermistor cable. 13)Adjust z-offset OTHER NOTES: Rotation_distance was set to 8.0 There are no LEDs. I have included an LED header but am not sure how it is supposed to work. Anyone who knows about this, please comment.
