This is a standard support for the comparator gauge that facilitates aligning the x axis to z rods. To properly level the x axis against the z rods, install the support (with indicator inside) on one side of the upper frame, raise the x axis until its profile touches the tip of the indicator. Keeping the support gently pressed downwards, make zero. Loosen the belt gear pulley from the opposite side where you made zero, ensuring the rod can rotate freely. Attach the support with the indicator to the side where you loosened the pulley and make zero from that side as well. Taking hold of the rod firmly, tighten the belt gear pulleys. Done.
