Here's a spool holder that I drew inspiration from the quick changing toilet paper holder. I've uploaded the brackets and 2 different types of pins that the spool can spin on. One of the pins is a solid pin with a rounded edge, while the other is designed to accommodate any type of bearing. The second pin features a cutout where a 6mm nylon insert lock nut can be pressed into place. In one of my pictures, I show how I attached 4 608 bearings using a 6mm screw. If you're planning to use a 608 bearing, I recommend wrapping the 6mm bolt with electrical tape until the bearing fits snugly on the bolt. This is because if you don't, the bearing will tend to spin on the bolt rather than utilizing its intended function. To attach the pin to the bracket, the holes are pre-drilled for a 5mmx35mm bolt. I've included a picture showing how I attached lm6uu linear bearings to one of the pins using a 6mm screw. If you want to extend the length of the pin, simply use longer 6mm bolts and add more bearings as needed. Whenever you mount this spool holder on your z-axis rail, it's essential to keep the ends of the pins about 1/2 apart so that they swing up and down freely. When doing so, you'll need to print a new filament runout sensor bracket. I've uploaded two different designs for you to choose from, and I suggest centering the runout sensor near the center of the spool. To attach the pin to the wall bracket, simply insert a 5mmx35mm bolt through the pre-drilled hole and secure it in place.
