Artillery Sidewinder X1 - Vortex Fan Nozzle V9
thingiverse
V9 is out NOW! Recently, I attempted to print with wood filament. Unfortunately, this resulted in a lot of stringing. The original fan nozzle created a wind shadow behind the extruder nozzle where the strings started to build up a lint of filament that eventually dropped on the print part. This was the impetus for me to design a new fan nozzle. So, I tried to make the wind create a small vortex around the extruder nozzle to prevent wind shadows and areas with no air flow. I designed it in such a way that there are no screws or glue needed to mount it to the fan. Just clip it on and you're ready. This works like a charm! Now, there are no lints at the extruder nozzle anymore! Enhancements in Version 6: + Attempt to steer the air a bit to equalize air flow in both nozzle arms + Smaller right arm for the reason above and to give sight to the printing nozzle + 45° inner walls to make printing of the part itself a bit easier Enhancements in Version 9 compared to V6: + Higher air flow rate -> Better prints -> Support is easier to remove (due to better cooling) + A little bit more silent
