Artillery Sidewinder X1 Front Z Braces utilizing 0.5" copper water pipe. v8.1/8.2 The outer diameter of the copper pipe is 0.625". v8.2 (ONLY LOWER BRACES CHANGED) increased stiffness by restoring lower brace support on the bottom surface of the case cover to a larger, previously unpublished version. I'm not sure why I reduced the size in the first place - probably to require less support during printing. But it allowed flex to occur on the top surface of the lower braces. v8.1 first release: not perfect, but this is the first reasonably usable version. I may flip the bolts for the top clamps to the outside on later versions, or completely redesign the top pieces. This was designed to provide better lateral support than a steep brace from the rear. It allows plenty of room for the extruder and left mount 5015 fan duct upgrades at the full 400mm z height. One benefit is that it's harder to miss the SD card slot and drop the card into the casing through the gap next to the reader. It also provides more protection for the SD card against accidental bumping. This was designed to require the least possible extra material, so two 715mm 0.625" OD rods (0.5" copper pipe), 8x M4 16mm bolts w/ nuts, 4x M5 12mm Bolts, 4x M5 16mm Bolts, 2x M5 50mm Bolts. Future plans include adding a 5 spool filament holder across the top of the copper pipe ends, so cutting them to the minimum 715mm is not recommended - the full length of the material I am working with is approximately 980mm, but I will probably not use the entire length for the spool holder, so expect to need a bare minimum of around 865mm per side to accommodate the spools. Fair warning, once you drop the top two gantry bolts in, they are difficult to remove again due to the design locking into the side of the gantry. Tilting the allen key worked for me, but you may need to catch the bolt head with a knife or small screwdriver as you turn it. I may remove the locking tab on future revisions, but this was requested for upload today, so here you go - as-is no guarantees or warranties!
