Artillery Sidewinder X1 Filament Spool Roll Holder
thingiverse
Another spool mount for the Sidewinder X1. The roller component itself isn't really different from others already available, but the mounting is unique. This uses regular ball bearings and brass washers that came with the holder, but not flanged bearings or screws. To complete this, you'll also need additional materials. - A M5 threaded rod, cut to a length of about 100 mm. - Some kind of tube/pipe made of aluminum or other stable material. - (Optional) Some M5 nuts and washers - regular ones are easier to fit. The washers aren't essential, but nicer to work with. - (Optional) Some heat-shrink tubing wide enough to fit over the roller. Important: The tube/pipe needs to be just a little bit longer than the distance between the bearings sitting in the printed roller. This prevents the bearing from being under tension when the screws are tightened down, allowing the roller to spin more freely. I recommend cutting it roughly and sanding it down to the exact length - I used a table belt sander for this. To make the surface of the roller softer and prevent the spool from rattling, heat-shrink tubing was put over the roller.
