Artillery Sidewinder X1 Camera-Bed mount
thingiverse
UPDATE: Rev. 4 is out, which is the same as Rev. 3 with a little modification for the clip. You can see in the picture that it works. It is a bit tricky to attach it, but once it's attached, it's quite sturdy! First, please share your makes and especially pictures of cameras you could fit to the arm. Since you benefit from the work I had done and use the design I prepared, in my opinion, this is the least you can do. Thanks! Finally, I designed this camera-holder for my Sidewinder X1. I found it terribly annoying that the cam is not fixed to the bed and moving with it. This part is designed to hold my LifeCam Studio, which has a very, very decent picture. I got Rev. 2 attached in the pictures, the cam is simply fixed with a drop of hot-glue. In order to do this, I removed the bending original-support and just put the screws back-in. I think it can be used for almost any cam - just fix it with glue in makeshift-style ;-) Since there is quite a bit of free length, the camera is a bit shaky. But actually you'll not see it in real life in the video-feed. It should be fixed in Rev. 3 - but I just printed it for now, it's not mounted and I could not check the fit of the part. Rev. 3 has a "clip" which does hold to the bed-corner. Print this on your own risk. But worst-case, just cut the clip-part. IMPORTANT: Use heat-resistant material! I've used ASA since it prints very easy and also does not smell as much as ABS does. But since the part is just below the bed, which can heat up to 150°C and there is a thin insulation only, any PETG or PLA will fail soon. NOTE: The side-rail on the right side (viewed towards the bed) is a bit too long. You need to cut about 25mm in order to make it fit. If Rev. 3 will be working, I'll finally update the part to not print this unnecessary portion. NOTE #2: You will lose a 30x30mm triangle from the corner of the bed, since otherwise the hotend will touch the camera. (It is an area where you should not print to)
