Artillery Sidewinder Tool Holder
thingiverse
I decided to create a tool holder for my Artillery printer after seeing some options available for other printers. Most of those I came across required me to unscrew part of the printer to screw in the holder, which wasn't ideal. I wanted something that would "snap on" easily. To address this need, I designed and printed a new tool holder specifically for my Artillery printer. I took care to design it without requiring supports, but those large holes can be problematic if your printer isn't calibrated correctly or you print too quickly. If sagging occurs in the holes, simply add supports to resolve the issue. The two inserts should fit snugly into the ridges on the right side of the printer. Overall, I'm thrilled with how this turned out - it's my first attempt at creating something functional and complex. I used Tinkercad to design and build the tool holder and Prusa Slicer to ensure a smooth slicing process. This tool holder is designed for a right-side mount only, as I didn't want to risk damaging the gantry on the left side in case of accidental Z-axis movement or dropped tools. There's a deliberate 5-8mm gap between the horizontal beam and the cap on the right vertical support. This was done intentionally, given that I wasn't sure about potential differences between X1 printer models.
