Artillery Large Spool holder with Filament Sensor Holder
thingiverse
This is a Large spool holder and filament sensor bracket for the Artillery printer. The original with the moveable filament sensor holder is a very bad idea if you are printing a large item as the cable is continually twisting as the print gets higher. This will also fit any 2020 extrusion. Although the filament sensor is mounted on 150mm rods that are smooth in the middle which allows it movement. Actual movement of the cable is slight on low parts of the print. But as the print gets higher the sensor gets pushed to one side by the PTFE tube that is connected to the hotend (3*4mm. 400mm long). This was checked on an 120 Hour print which was 380mm high. The size spool width that can be used with the M3 x 150mm rods shown is about 120mm. But you can use longer ones if needed. The Solidworks screenshot shows how the parts are assembled. Extra parts needed:- M3 x 150mm rods (x3) M3 Half Nuts (x4) M3 Nyloc Nuts (x4) M3 Washer (x8) M4 x 35mm bolts (x4) M4 Half Nuts (x4) M4 Nyloc Nuts (x4) M4 Washer (x8) 624VV Bearings (x8) 2020 roll in nuts (x4*) plus four bolts to suit 8mm long Only 2 if you use the ones that mount the original holder. Note: When you have made this always check the spool that you are installing to see if the filament goes through a hole in the centre. If it does cut that part off or the hot end will keep pulling the filament when it runs out until something breaks.
