Artillery Hornet fan duct for 5015 radial fan
thingiverse
***Update 21/02/2022*** : I improved the strength of some weak parts of the duct. I also designed two small tools to help tighten the nuts holding the fans. Intro ===== I really like my Artillery Hornet, as it is my first 3D printer ; however, the fans on the Artillery Hornet are quite weak, and the default duct does not a good job at directing the air flow where it should. This gave me some poor results with overhangs and bridges (see the blue part in the pictures). I first found the zephirisack's fan duct, which gave better results, but it wasn't perfect: I decided to give it a try with bigger fans, radial 50x50x15, and designed this fan duct. I was inspired by the default fan duct look (as much as I could, as those fans are bigger and shouldn't touch the spool on the right of the printer), and some parts of zephirisack's design helped me. I was stunned by the difference good cooling can make (see orange part in the pictures). Disclaimer ===== I am not a professional in 3D design, so it's possible there are issues with this item: until now, I didn't had any. Please be cautious anyway if you use this fan duct, the fact that other people may use it kinda stress me, I cannot be held responsible in case of trouble. If you have tips, suggestions or remarks, please share them in the comments, thanks for your indulgence! Needed parts ===== + 2x 24V radial fans 50x50x15 + 4x M4 screws and nuts, for fixing the fans: 20mm works but is a little too short, 22mm should be perfect + (***optional***) a crimping tool for JST-XH, plus pins and housing, to shorten the fan cables.
