For those of you who are looking to replace the flex with direct wiring, this is the solution to the problems. The overheating of the flex and the connector is caused by a bad contact caused by the same movement of the printer. A bad contact causes sparks and these high temperature which ends up melting many times some pins, even part of the connector. Most electrical equipment that uses a flex cable has a lock to keep the flex in place to avoid this effect. I designed this part, printed it in abs and tested it on a couple of machines getting excellent results. It adds the missing latch and holds the flex in place. Requires 2 bolts m3x16 with nut The original bolts are reused.
