Ever since I upgraded the extruder on my Genius to a BMG + V6 hotend, I'd been rocking Chanh55's excellent cooling duct. It performs great, and my only quibble is that it's a bit chonky. This inhibits visibility a bit and requires a bigger probe offset for my Z probe. So when I swapped the hotend over to a NFCrazy (Slice Engineering Mosquito clone), I thought I'd take the opportunity to try out a new duct. My goals were to match the cooling performance, but have a slimmer profile and increased nozzle visibility. This is the result. I'm pretty happy with it! I tried printing a cooling fan torture test before and after, and included the results. It definitely cools! I actually had to turn the extrusion temperature up with the new duct: the first version (printed, as with the former duct test, in MatterHackers PETG at 240) was *way* too cool at the same fan speed. The version pictured was printed at 250, but with same fan settings as the previous duct. I've now turned down my cooling fan speeds in slicer to about 50% of what I had it at previously. UPDATE 1 Oct 2020: I'm swapping out the extruder on my Sidewinder to a BMG with v6/Volcano, so I made a quick update to this duct to allow me to use it with that hotend. Feel free to give it a spin! Due to the change in angle, I also added integrated supports, which should be easy to snap off after printing.
