Artificial Sunrise Lamp
cults3d
As a project for our electrical engineering class, me and my group decided to design and build a lamp that simulates the sunrise during Ottawa mornings. Since waking up can be extremely difficult due to the dark conditions, we aimed to create a device that would assist in this process. Our modular gear reducers, which I previously posted about a month ago, played a significant role in this project. The finished lamp is designed to plug into a wall timer, and once connected, it begins turning on as soon as electricity is applied from the timer. This feature is optional, allowing users to adjust their waking experience accordingly. These types of lamps are available for purchase, but they usually come with a hefty price tag of around $200. In contrast, our team managed to build this lamp for approximately $70. However, it's possible to construct an even more cost-effective version of the device.
