Articulating, Wall-Mounted, Magnetic Phone Mount Rotated Arm
thingiverse
UPDATE(8/6/18): Uploaded new PIN/SLOT version of 90 degree mount. Frustrated with screws breaking on multiple 90 degree mounts, I decided to design a more reliable attachment system that utilizes original parts whenever possible. Check out my other design here (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3037099) for new Arms and Wall Mount using the same PIN/SLOT system for added strength. To avoid breaking, make sure to print the PIN with PLA+ material, which offers some flexibility for a secure fit into the slot. ------------------ UPDATE(6/1/2018): Printing screws upright led to a weakness in the design, but I found that cutting a hole in the middle adds extra strength due to additional walls. This modification has held up well so far, and I've added a new version of the longer one with hollow screws. ------------------ I liked the articulating arm, but it needed a way to rotate the connector 90 degrees from previous models, which is why I created this design. Since my modeling program wasn't capable of twisting the arm braces, I dropped a sphere between them and adjusted it for strength and aesthetics. This design was necessary because my remixed phone/tablet mount (seen in the last photo) from [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2194278 ] only worked in the rotated orientation when holding the tablet in portrait mode. If anyone is interested, I'll look into sharing this model once it's refined. UPDATE: Added a slightly longer version that offers one more tick of rotation. While untested, there's no reason it shouldn't work just as well as this one.
