You might want to print this part with a material that's resistant to warping, such as PETG or something similar that can handle higher temperatures, especially if you're using an LED ring. This will help prevent the part from deforming due to heat. I use an enclosure for printing, which means lighting levels are limited, and I have a strip of LEDs mounted on top. However, because the extruder is in the way, what's being printed remains mostly in shadow. With this new face plate, I can finally see what I'm printing clearly. This modified part houses a ring of LEDs, and I've tested it with both a 16-neopixel ring from Adafruit and a 12-LED ZIP Circle from Pimoroni. You can use either one, but if you want natural white light instead of blue, get an RGBW Neopixel ring. To control the LEDs, you'll need a microcontroller like my ATtiny85 MCU. Depending on your printer's power supply, you might also need a step-down voltage regulator, which can be found pre-built or DIYed with a linear or switching regulator.
