Articulating Joint

Articulating Joint

thingiverse

A remixed version of BManx2000's friction fit ball and socket joint, the design is modified slightly to achieve a more reliable print. There are 3 sizes: - (12.49 x 15.37 x 22.7) - (16.66 x 20.5 x 30.26) - (22.2 x 27.33 x 40.36) It should be noted that the small joints are relatively weak and can only be used for light components. The larger joints have more friction and are less easily manipulated therefore can holder heavier components/ boards, especially when several are used in conjunction. When printing with the flat side of the ball on the build plate as in the .3mf models (i.e. in an inverted vertical orientation) in PETG on a Prusa MK3s+ without supports all links have printed successfully without any fractures/ breaks on implementation. 'Articulating_Joint_Small_Clip' & 'Articulating_Joint_Medium_Clip' - Accept a crocodile clip with a leg outer diameter of 5mm and inner diameter of 4mm which can be inserted manually with moderate to significant pressure. - Have been modeled in such a way so as to be able to bend to roughly 90 degrees on one of the sides.
