Articulated Z mounted web cam
thingiverse
This design has been updated, allowing more material around a weak spot where the screw attaches the web cam to the mount. The centre section is now 600mm longer. This new design enables the web cam to move up with the Z axis, providing a constant view of the nozzle build at all times. To extend the arm even further, additional middle sections can be printed as needed. The Z bracket mounts directly onto the aluminium plate, just as shown in the pictures. If you remove the two outer screws going into the mounting pillars, the bracket will slide smoothly on. My own mount was a tight fit, but no rework was necessary to get it to work properly. To assemble the brackets, I used 3 M3 X 15 bolts. You won't need any nuts, as one hole on each bracket is smaller and the screws will bite into a thread. To achieve the required strength, I recommend printing the camera mount section with the screw holes in the camera yoke vertical. This may require the use of supports to get it right. Be sure to arrange the web cam cable in such a way that it allows for the upwards travel of the web cam.
