Articulated snake with repaired head
thingiverse
I spent some quality time fine-tuning the STL file for the head (thanks to makeprintable.com) and have included it here in case others find it useful. Check out laurent_despeyroux's brilliant source design for the other files: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1619667 I'm truly grateful to Laurent for crafting such a fun design. I printed everything at 0.1mm per layer, scaling each piece down to about half of what Laurent used. Miraculously, the tongue stayed attached when I removed the supports – but this print is meant as a toy gift for a kid and so I expect the tongue to come loose pretty quickly. Here's the scale I used for each part: Head: 255% 37 segments: from 246.5% down to 110.5%, decreasing by 3.5% between each segment Tail: 107% One other thing to note is that I printed the head at a crazy angle – 45 degrees, with the top facing down. This way, I only needed supports from the bed. Initially, I tried printing it upside down, but the PLA was weak around the ball socket arms and it broke when I tried to insert it.
