TAKE US TO YOUR PRINTER! This model is an expressive tribute to the imaginative designs of Robert Kinoshita and MGM art director A. Arnold "Buddy" Gillespie, creators of the iconic 1956 American science fiction film Forbidden Planet. I printed it with 0% infill and three shells for a light and airy feel. The photo shows an earlier version of the legs that I'm happy to share. The optional visor comes in two parts and can be printed with clear filament or removed to reveal the intricate details of the faceplate. If you're looking for a more faithful replica, I recommend checking out this amazing model on thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1844474 Update 2.3: I've made significant improvements to the legs and body, now available as articulated_robby-legs_v2.3.stl and articulated_robby-torso_v2.2.stl. These files are best printed with raft enabled, using 0% infill or higher. I'm particularly fond of the model's look when paired with a smaller, more detailed head, so I've uploaded new models: detailed_head_V2 and detailed_mouth_v2. Feel free to use them as optional add-ons, but keep in mind they require some assembly. As for my work-in-progress file, don't worry – it's still being refined, and I'm excited to share a new head design with easier-to-print antennae soon! Update 3: To give you a taste of how versatile this model can be, try adding a gear bearing (like http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1410972) and a visor – or go wild with googly eyes! Add a spring to the neck for an extra touch of whimsy, and voila! You've got a Gear Head robot that's sure to bring a smile to your face!
