Articulated Luigi Print in Place
thingiverse
Similar to Mario, yet our favorite brother Luigi is a unique model. Check out Articulated Mario: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4097449. Some supports are essential for printing this model. Place them on thumbs, ears, and neck areas carefully. Be cautious around the neck, as you don't want to limit its movement. In my setup, one support for each connector prints well. I didn't bother with the back of the model since it's almost flat, but I included the full model anyway. If you use Cura, I've included the project file I used for printing. It employs "Custom supports" and may not work if you don't have it installed. Simply place the model in the plate so that the back of the model comes out flat. Adjusting the raft air gap might be excessive; check your settings before printing. I printed with 0.2 mm default Cura settings. Edit: I attempted to fix the original model but found it challenging to create a manifold geometry. I've uploaded a new STL file, Luigi2withSupports.stl, which is more functional but has unusual sideburns. The required supports are also included. Cura can successfully slice this complex design.
