I took the 'Jointed Hand' model from bq3D and scaled it down by approximately 20% for Sophie's non-robotic hands. The finger parts are extremely small and benefit greatly from being printed on a raft at fine or extra-fine (0.06mm) resolution to prevent warping at the base, ensuring the internal channels are well formed without the need for additional supports. I discovered that the internal channels of the hand were too narrow for doll elastic to pass through, so I cut the 3D mesh of the palm into three separate pieces and used a drill-bit to widen the internal channels of each piece. I also expanded the holes in each finger part using a very small 2mm drill bit. With these modifications, I was able to assemble the hand by utilizing extremely thin steel gardener's wire.
