Articulated finger extensions - Simplified Parts
thingiverse
This is a parts simplification so that assembling the fingers does not require any glue or epoxy. The original design by JulienJeanroy can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4342323 #This post ONLY contains the modified parts. The new parts directly replace one or more parts from the original design. For other parts and instructions visit the original design by JulienJeanroy can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4342323 It combines the B and BF parts into one part and adds additional pin holes so that everything can be "riveted" together with the pins and a soldering iron. I printed 2 hands worth of fingers at 90% and they came out great. #Print Instructions: 1) Pha_B_BF_Base parts -- Print Vertical (so that the finger cup is pointed up) -- Print with Brim -- Print with Supports from the Build Plate Only -- Print at High Resolution -- Using a round pointed needle file on the pin holes helps to smooth operation and fitment 2) Pha_BF_Top parts -- Print Flat -- Print with Brim -- Print at High Resolution -- Using a round pointed needle file on the pin holes helps to smooth operation and fitment 3) Pha_D parts -- Print Flat -- Print with Brim -- Print at High Resolution -- Using a round pointed needle file on the pin holes helps to smooth operation and fitment 4) Pins -- Print Flat -- Print at High Resolution -- Needle Nose pliers can be used to round out or make the pins slightly smaller #Part Replacements BY FINGER { NEW_PART.stl --Original_Part(s) } Thumb: Thumb_Pha_B_BF_Base_Edit.stl --THUMB_Pha_B --THUMB_Pha_BF_Base Thumb_Pha_BF_Top_Edit.stl --THUMB_Pha_BF_Top PIN_Pha_D_Base_Edit.stl --PIN_Pha_D_Base PIN_Pha_D_Top_Edit.stl --PIN_Pha_D_Top Index Finger: IND_Pha_B_BF_Base_edit.stl --IND_Pha_B --MF_Pha_BF_Base MF_Pha_BF_Top_edit.stl --MF_Pha_BF_Top IND_Pha_D_Base_edit.stl --IND_Pha_D_Base IND_Pha_D_Top_edit.stl --IND_Pha_D_Top Middle Finger: MF_Pha_B_BF_Base_edit.stl --MF_Pha_B --MF_Pha_BF_Base MF_Pha_BF_Top_edit.stl --MF_Pha_BF_Top MF_Pha_D_Base_Edit.stl --MF_Pha_D_Base MF_Pha_D_Top_Edit.stl --MF_Pha_D_Top Ring Finger: MF_Pha_B_BF_Base_edit.stl --MF_Pha_B --MF_Pha_BF_Base MF_Pha_BF_Top_edit.stl --MF_Pha_BF_Top IND_Pha_D_Base_edit.stl --IND_Pha_D_Base IND_Pha_D_Top_edit.stl --IND_Pha_D_Top Pinky Finger: PIN_Pha_B_BF_Base_Edit.stl --PIN_Pha_B --PIN_Pha_BF_Base Pin_Pha_BF_Top_Edit.stl --PIN_Pha_BF_Top PIN_Pha_D_Base_Edit.stl --PIN_Pha_D_Base PIN_Pha_D_Top_Edit.stl --PIN_Pha_D_Top
