Artemis Starship Bridge Simulator Control Panels

I'm excited to show off my first versions of Artemis control panels, which I've been able to create using 3D printing. These control panels are designed specifically for use with 12mmx12mmx12mm momentary tactile buttons and can be easily updated in the future. Feel free to use them if you'd like. If you're not familiar with Artemis: Spaceship Bridge Simulator, I recommend checking out this link: https://artemisspaceshipbridge.com/. The parts for these control panels are meant to be used with 1/2" MDF, and the holes were cut into the MDF so that LED ribbon could be adhered to the inside. The top and bottom are secured with m4 screws, which create a thread in the MDF, eliminating the need for nuts - although this can vary depending on your printer. I printed these control panels using my Ender 3 and CR10 printers. I printed the tops face down without any support, and they came out perfectly. The settings I used were .2mm layer height, inland black and clear PETG (which is a good choice because LEDs can get hot), at 30mm/s, with 7mm retraction, 1.2mm shell thickness on all sides, and combing mode turned on. To achieve the best results, I printed the model face down using black PETG and no supports, then switched to clear after 3-4 layers of black. This is because it usually takes at least 3 layers of black before it becomes opaque enough to block the LED light. The words and numbers are either raised or lowered from the surface by about .05", so you'll know when it's time to switch to transparent, which should be around 6-7 layers in. Once your print is complete, you'll have a really good faceplate that's easy to backlight.
