I wanted to showcase how 3D printed objects can seamlessly integrate into an art project. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 20% Post-Printing Crafting the piece Below is a list of materials also used in this artwork, all of which can be found at your local art/craft store: 1- 18"x24" cotton canvas. Super Glue Absorbent Ground Paint After printing all objects were arranged into a visually appealing formation before attaching them to a canvas using super glue. I then allowed it to dry completely. Several layers of absorbent ground were applied next, making it easier for paint to adhere to both the canvas and the object. Design Process Designing This Using Tinkercad, I created a flat base object with one side being entirely flat, allowing it to be easily attached to a canvas later on. In this case, I used the half-round object and made size and height adjustments to create an eye-catching visual effect.
