Art Nouveau Silhouette Pattern

Art Nouveau Silhouette Pattern

thingiverse

This model was inspired by a wallpaper sample on the Historic New England website. The wallpaper maker remains unknown and likely crafted it between 1900 and 1910. The original wallpaper's Art Nouveau style bears a striking resemblance to my previous silhouette pattern. https://www.historicnewengland.org/explore/collections-access/gusn/290822/ I downloaded the image and edited it in GIMP, then used Inkscape's 'Trace Bitmap' function to create an outline. I manually refined the tracing by removing isolated islands, connecting all remaining shapes to each other, and ensuring a seamless frame. OpenSCAD source code and Inkscape file are provided for your reference. The STL was rendered using OpenSCAD version 2018.09.05 (git 40af343). It would be fantastic to see this design brought to life with a laser cutter, paper cutter, or CNC machine. Check out the SVG file if you're interested in making it that way. If you enjoy this design, consider exploring my other "Floral Silhouette Pattern" creation, which shares a similar style: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3166338
