Art Frame

Art Frame

thingiverse

Aiming to improve artwork appearance at a lower cost, attempt 3D printing frames for an art print. Sketchup files are provided as templates for customization; adjust side lengths and profiles according to your artwork or printer requirements. Seek feedback on this concept and refine it further. To print the frame, produce four (or more) side pieces [dark blue], four left-hand corner pieces, four right-hand corner pieces, and four corner joining pieces [cyan]. Assemble them together using glue, screws or melting with a hot knife/soldering iron. However, this design lacks provisions for hanging hardware, joining multiple side pieces, and holding artwork in place; also, the 3D-printed surface may be rough. Consider covering the frame with putty or clay to achieve a smoother finish, as done with real wood frames, which might enhance results due to plastic's resistance to humidity changes.
