Arrow shaft airplane
thingiverse
I built an RC airplane with a carbon arrow shaft as the body, using a 7.5mm diameter arrow from a bi-mart 3 pack. I installed an EMAX RS2205 motor with a 6" propeller and paired it with a Little Bee 30A ESC and a 1300mah 4s lipo battery. The wing is approximately 30" wide and made from DTFB, designed using instructions found at https://bit.ly/2sfmlhL. I incorporated Tg9e servos from Hobby King and secured them with hot glue, super glue, tape, and zip ties. To extend the wires from the tail forward, I purchased a roll of servo wire. The tail was created by cutting custom dimensions with a razor blade. While you may want to consider using a bigger motor and prop for efficiency, this setup provided ample power and speed for comfortable flight. I designed the entire project using OnShape and have made the files available for anyone who wants to modify them for their own needs at https://cad.onshape.com/documents/67ccd396fd9c8bff1ca0a789/w/3802d878ae666a645a8e303f/e/bf6a9957cafc414d90e37962.
