Arrma Typhon Tall Body Mounts
thingiverse
Arrma Typhon 6s recommends 2x3s or 6s battery, but the Spektrum Smart Batteries (G1 or G2) are too tall when stacked to fit under the body. Apparently this is a common problem with not just Spektrum but most hard case 3s/6s LiPo batteries. These mounts will raise the body 3/4" or 19mm so that the batteries will fit comfortably. I tested the fit with 2x3s 100C Spektrum Smart G2 batteries and the body sits perfectly on the mounts and just touches the top of the battery. These are the batteries I have and are on the thicker side of the spectrum. If you're running a single 6s, you could shrink the height down by a 1/4" or more. IMO, the lower the body, the better the buggy looks. Printing: Since it is a small part, the overall quality doesn't impact the print time or material used, but after several test prints and broken parts, this is what I would recommend as far as print settings go. I used Inland brand PLA+ black and slice with Ultimaker Cura. I would not recommend trying to print all three at the same time. Every time I tried this the print failed. Print each one separately. Everything was set to default for Generic PLA profile except the following: Layer Height: .12mm (or better if supported) Wall thickness: 1.5mm Wall Line Count: 4 (This updates automatically) Infill Density: 25% Infill Pattern: Cubic Printing Temperature: 210C (PLA+ needs more heat) Support: Yes Support Placement: Touching Buildplate Support Overhang Angle: 60 (this helps keep the rear mount upright) Build Plate Adhesion Type: Raft
