The stock tray is very tight if you use a 2S battery and it scrapes the battery wires substantially.  We like the Spektrum SPMX50002S30H3, and this tray is sized to fit it snugly so it doesn't move around, while also giving a bit more clearance by reducing the thickness of the tray's floor to 1mm.  It's still a tight fit, but I no longer feel like I'm going to ruin the battery's wires when inserting it.
