I've tested this method on its own, but it does provide an extra layer of support for the Hot Racing Metal Gear setup. For maximum effectiveness, I recommend using only Iron Infused material, but ultimately that's your decision. To ensure a smooth fit into the HR Metal Gear, you may need to sand down the edges slightly. This might be necessary due to the original pads requiring some trimming to fit properly into the plastic gear. By adjusting your slicer settings, specifically reducing the top and bottom layers, you can customize the height of the pad to suit your needs. I found that setting it to 3 worked well for me, resulting in a slightly thicker pad than standard.
