The secret compartment in the armrest was designed specifically for a smartphone with a high-end charging dock. Since I rarely use this feature, I decided to create a compact organizer that fits snugly into that space. This clever design holds my keys and other miscellaneous items, despite the limited room available. If you'd like to add more storage capacity or bigger compartments, simply attach the included base plate. The organizer is designed to work seamlessly with the quick-release function, making it easy to remove when not in use. The latest version of this design (v3) has been improved to accommodate a larger space and more practical compartments, while still fitting my original key and other small items comfortably. This was created using Fusion360 software, which proved to be a challenging but rewarding experience. It's worth noting that this design may fit other BMW models if they use the same phone adapter. I printed this organizer using PETG material, but unfortunately, the results were not entirely satisfactory. However, I've since adjusted my PETG settings and plan to reprint it soon. It's possible that using PLA for this project might lead to warping issues due to the constant pressure exerted by some of the tabs, as well as the potential for heat buildup inside the car. In any case, ABS material would likely be the best choice for an original part like this.
