The old armchair stood as the most neglected piece in the room, slumped and weighed down by its own bulk. For nearly every year, it remained untouched, heaped high with discarded trash and outgrown clothes, shrouded from the sunlight that struggled to penetrate the dusty blinds. It wasn't until Edward stumbled upon it and dragged it outside onto the decking, giving it a fresh spin and wiping it clean with a damp white cloth, that its true value began to shine through. The leather was robust, the wood remained unblemished, and after years of languishing in obscurity, it showed none of the ingrained grime that clung to its fellow chairs.
