Armattan Tadpole Crossfire Immortal L Antenna Mount

<p>This is a small mount for the Armattan Tadpole 3" intended to hold a stock TBS Crossfire dipole antenna at a 120 degree bend. Inspiration credit obviously goes to Mr. Steele.</p> <p>While this is definitely less efficient than a straight dipole would be, a 120 degree bend seems to provide a decent radiation pattern according to <a href="https://www.qsl.net/kk4obi/Center-fed%20L-dipoles%20Vertical.html">this article on qsl.net</a>. Realistically, this a 3" freestyle quad -- it has more than enough range to spare for a more convenient mounting method at 900MHz. Within a couple of hundred meters, I'm maintaining ~70 LQ even with multiple metal obstructions and dropping below the horizon of my goggles. The channel for the RX wire has a small cut out to snap it into place after the elements are inserted.</p> <p>Slide ~2.5mm wide zip ties into the channels with the antenna elements. Trim the zip ties to length and use heat shrink tubing to secure the elements to the zip ties. .</p> <p>Insert the mount into the left side of the rear cage and use another zip tie to secure it in place.
