I experienced issues with the factory solution for VTX and RX mounts because my colleagues damaged them badly. Since I use Crossfire, that solution is not an option for the RX antennas. The VTX antenna now sits on a soft platform that can flex and absorb impact energy before the stiffer antenna would bend. When I crash, the quad typically spins out of control, so if you mount the antenna sticking out flat, it will be among the first things to hit the ground. Even with low-angle pitching up, I found there's no propellers or arms that can take on the damage first. With higher uptilt, there's also not much in place to protect it, but hitting from the top back is rare. It angles high up almost parallel with the GoPro, so it stays in an ideal angle for the radio spectrum field. I printed this mount from a type of TPU or TPE, a relatively softer material. It was a noname Chinese brand and also glows a bit in the dark.
