A runner from Stroudsburg, PA, has a birth defect limiting her arm movement during runs. To help her, I designed a brace that uses elastic bands to mimic natural arm motion while running. The brace straps to the forearm and upper arm with Velcro, and hooks attach the bands at the front and top. 3D printing facilitated quick prototyping for proper fits and sizes using a Stratasys 1200es printer and Rhinoceros 5 software.
