Human: Arkbalista Model 3D Format Model: .obj .fbx .C4D .dae .stl .3ds Ancient Roman siege machine featuring a heavy crossbow mounted on two sturdy wheels. Originally designed to shoot bolts and beams, it was also adaptable for hurling stones, bullets, and containers filled with burning tar or carrion to spread disease within besieged fortresses. Operated by manubalists in the first line of battle alongside traditional infantrymen, this medieval contraption relied on a powerful winch to draw its bowstring tight. At an impressive 900-meter range, the machine could pierce a wooden board from as far away as 200 meters with a single 0.5-kilogram bolt. Initially dismissed by ancient arbalists as a clumsy imitation of heavier crossbows, it ultimately proved itself in combat and became a staple in Western and Eastern European armies. To boost its effectiveness, several arkbalistas were typically aligned side by side to maximize their firepower. Bigger models known as espringols were designed for use as heavy siege engines to shatter fortress walls with powerful shots. Spanning 12 meters across, they could fire projectiles a staggering 1,100 meters.
