UPDATE4: Sparrow B.Bailey version 2.0 is now live, featuring improved axii micro antennas and no frsky antenna holes. This pod is still under construction, so I haven't printed or tested it yet. UPDATE3: After adding antenna tube holes as requested, I'm hoping they'll clear the propellers and oncoming gates. UPDATE2: The final version is up, with two options - one for racing and one for rainy/snowy days. I'm not sure what angle to fly at, but around 50-55 degrees seems right. Lower angles might be fine, but the top of the pod could limit visibility. Flight testing will confirm. I use 20mm standoffs, a hobbywing stack, and a massive XF receiver with a Mach2 vtx and axii antenna (not Lumenier). The cam currently hits the vtx due to its high mounting position. On the side holes, I see openings in the slicer but not on the printed part - I'm not concerned about strength. I recommend printing in Nylon or Flex, as I've used Hobbyking Flex with great results for durability and vibration resistance. This is a custom pod for HS1177 gigantic cameras designed by Andy Shen (https://www.thingiverse.com/andyshen/designs), the best pod designer in the world. Since I have no experience making these things, I created my own from scratch. I wanted something roomy and not too slim in the back, as previous pods had always bothered me. Integrating the axii antenna was a must to improve airflow - although it's only noticeable in flight! After 20+ versions, with only a few making it to the printer, I surprisingly ended up with a design similar to the full-size version. Not sure if it looks good or not. I designed this from scratch without copying anyone else's work. It may not be pretty, but it works. Printed in Nylon with a 0.4 nozzle and 0.2 layer height at 30% infill - still struggling with corner lift using nylon, but everything fits perfectly except for my pod legs, which become bent. Let me know what you think!
