Ark Nova Organizer
thingiverse
NOTICE (2 Oct 2023): I have updated some of these parts (SpecialEnclosureTray and the SetupTray) with further information on the upcoming expansion. But I will not be uploading them until I get a chance to test it out. Please check back after mid-Nov 2023 for these updates. Yet another Ark Nova organizer. I really liked calbond’s design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5266169), but it didn’t quite fit on my print bed. So, I’ve put together my own. The largest sized object is 190mmx190mm. I took some inspiration for a few others and will highlight them throughout this description. As you will see, I have attempted to future proof this design for the upcoming expansion, but will not know if I’ve missed anything until the manual comes out or, better yet, it is available itself. I will try to update with corrections as soon as I find out I’ve erred. But hopefully I’ve got it covered and correction isn’t necessary. You will need to print 4 sets of my Action Card Trays [one set in each colour]: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5775671 You may also want to print the following other items, or find a different set, or make your own, or don’t bother (I have, and the pictures reflect them) -Kiosks/Pavilions [print 4-5 per player of each]: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5523872 -Break Marker (Coffee mug) [print 1]: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5255675 -Animal Markers [print 3 of each desired]: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5490219 Before I get to the list of parts, if you’re wondering about some items in the pictures that may not be downloadable here, be sure to check out my other related builds: Action Card Trays (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5775671); Animal Tokens (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5932436); Player Markers (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5932426); and 5-6 player expansion box [not an official mode of play] (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5932477). This organizer consists of the following parts (other than those of other listed above): ActionTrayHolder [print 1]: Holds four sets of my action card trays (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5775671) and acts as the base for the Player Cups. (update) CardHolder [print 3]: I initially pointed towards another designer's creation for the card holders, but that thing seems to have since been removed. As such this is my simple replacement. Print three, which should be more than enough for all base cards and expansion cards once they arrive. Note, my pictures will not match the design of these holders, but the size and function remain the same. PlayerCup [print 4, one in each colour]: Heavily influenced by Fabmaszter’s design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5165361), this is a bit larger, and has a gradual wall to make it easier to remove the cubes. It will also fit the animal player markers, either klaun86’s design (thingiverse.com/thing:5490219), or mine (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5932426). These cups fit nicely on top of the action tray holder. ComponentTray [print 2]: This holds the standard enclosures, X-tokens, money and has space for my Animal Tokens (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5932436) or any other tokens/items you want to keep there, note there should be enough for all five animal types, bears, petting zoo animals, plus one more for the upcoming expansion. This is designed to be printed twice, splitting the components between them with each side of the table having one each. The centre area holds one of the modular Kiosk/Pav Holders (below). You’ll note in the pictures, I have used the original money tokens in one tray, and the resource cubes from Terraforming Mars in the other. (This part is heavily influenced calbond’s design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5266169)) Kiosk Pav holders [print 2 of either of the following]: These hold the Kiosks and Pavilions or whatever else you want in the centre of the Component tray. I have used SerialGriller’ design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5523872) for these buildings, but will work with any design, including the game’s tokens (though I wouldn’t use the tray in this case as the recessed spaces will make it hard to remove them). I have three designs that fit and provide that function: --KioskPavTray: Holds 12 total in a neat order. --KioskPavCup: One large cup to hold one or both types of buildings (I have not printed this one, so don’t have a picture, but it should hold 16-18 buildings. --KioskPavDoubCup: same as above, but has two separate chambers, each holds 8 buildings SetupTray [print 1]: This holds the bonus tokens, the break mug and space for something else (I have a 12-sided die to help randomize the map choice, if that’s what players want). UniqueEnclosureTray [print 1]: simply holds the unique enclosure tokens. SpecialEnclosureTray [print 4, one in each colour]: Influenced by aeremin ’s design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5543151), this enables each player to have at their side, all special enclosures available to them. Note, this has a space for the upcoming aquarium in the expansion; Hopefully that is the correct shape in the end. TrayHolder [print 1]: this is a simple thing that keeps the special enclosures and AssociationTray neatly packed in the box. AssociationTray [print 1]: Holds the partnership tokens, multiplier/venom/constriction tokens, and the university tokens (four sets, as the expansion will bring in another type consisting of 6 unique universities apparently, so the fourth space is deeper than the others). This will sit on top of the Special Enclosure Trays (securely fitted to the top of the Tray Rack) [See the TrayHolder steps pictures]. I’ve included pictures showing the insert pack-up steps.
