Aristotle at The Louvre, Paris
myminifactory
We see here the unmistakable characteristics of Aristotle (384-322 AD), a renowned tutor of Alexander the Great between 342-341 BC. and the founder of the School of Philosophy, which he established around 335 BC in Athens. His portrait is easily recognizable due to another replica bearing his signature, although it has since been lost, leaving behind only a drawing of it. All these replicas are copied from an original bronze figure that is now lost, attributed to Lysippos, the skilled sculptor of Alexander the Great. The nose has undergone restoration work. Traces of polychrome can be seen in his hair and beard. This object forms part of "Scan The World".
