Ariane V Rocket, 1/200 scale. Approximately 10.5 inches long. + *2019-07-31: Re-uploaded STL coordinates as millimeters instead of meters with a scale factor.* + *2019-08-01: Corrected the peg alignment on the main tank at the engine end.* This model is based on the Ariane V rocket, modified from my previous work for a Kerbal Space Program mod. After assembling it backward, I made adjustments to ensure the engine can be attached in the correct orientation. Assembly requires pegs, which may need rescaling depending on your printer's tolerances. The pegs were sized according to my own printer's output, with slight undersizing for the sockets to account for slicer and printer variations. A combined model is available for a single print job option, but I recommend printing individual parts for better results. While many space rocket models exist, it can be challenging to find ones that balance detail and scale. Some are highly detailed but intended for large prints, while others have low polygon counts resulting in visible flat faces on cylinders. Scale information is often missing or unclear. For my project, I'm creating a lineup of space rockets in the same 1:200 scale. This size allows small rockets to be visible without overwhelming larger models like the Saturn V and SLS. My goal is to design simple models that are easy to print, sand, and paint, while retaining accurate dimensions and proportions. Many of my models originate from mods created for Kerbal Space Program, but with redrawn details and polygon counts. I based them on real-world rockets using diagrams and online measurements, striving for accuracy while omitting or simplifying certain details. Please note that these models are not 100% perfect, as some details were omitted to simplify the designs.
