Are you read to print an Iris box?
thingiverse
I finally cracked under the pressure of trying to print a flawless iris box, so I decided to create a simplified test slice that would help me fine-tune my printer while minimizing waste. Every surface boasts a 0.3mm clearance, ensuring smooth prints. Meanwhile, all walls stand at 1.2mm thick. I'll be upfront – I'm still not confident enough to tackle an iris box on its own. Stringing and blobbing continue to give me trouble, but having this test part up my sleeve has already saved me a significant amount of time and material. If you're one of the lucky few who can print an iris box with ease, I'd love to hear about your experience: was this shape easier or harder to work with? Feel free to share your settings and success stories – I'm all ears!
