Arduino Quad Led Flashlight AF-20
thingiverse
Hi there! This is my new Flashlight AF-20. [Alpha Flashlight 20 watt] Basic Info It's based on four High Power 5w LEDs that are powered by a 150w DC Converter with built-in voltage and current regulators. This Converter is controlled by an Arduino Nano that works together with a display, showing the power mode and battery capacity on the back of the Flashlight. The AF-20 has a main ON/OFF switch and a red illuminated "Mode" button to change between the five modes. It also features several protection systems, which are explained in more detail in the "Features and Specs" section. For instance, thermal protection is based on a KSD9700 thermal switch that turns on a cooling fan if the temperature exceeds 40°C. You can adjust this switch to suit your needs, choosing from various temperature settings such as 50, 60, or 80°C. Note that the high airflow design ensures components won't overheat. The unique AF-20 design allows you to switch between lenses like in a SLR camera! You decide whether you need a soft flood light using a 120° lens or use a 5° lens for a high-power narrow beam light for long distances! Features and Specs ✓ Changeable Lenses ✓ Active Cooling + six heatsinks in total ✓ Light Modes: LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, TURBO, and STROBE ✓ OverCurrent Protection on LEDs (max is 1500mA) ✓ OverDischarge Protection: Arduino continuously measures the voltage and alerts you if there's an issue. ✓ OverHeat Protection: A cooling fan automatically turns on when the temperature rises. ✓ High Efficiency Cooling design with vented ports ✓ Battery Management System (Auto Turn-Off when Battery is Low) ✓ OLED Display that shows the remaining battery and current mode ✓ Max. Light Emittance: 9200lux @ 1m ✓ Battery Life: Approximately one hour @ Turbo Mode ✓ Weight: 500gr ✓ Color: Red/Black MODES Pressing the "Mode" button once at a time with a shuffle between LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH modes. To enter TURBO mode, press the button twice. Triple-press will turn on STROBE mode. LEDs I used four LG 3535 LEDs instead of CREE XP-G. They can be found cheaply on eBay or AliExpress. Theoretically, it gives about an hour of battery life on the most demanding mode, TURBO mode.
