Arduino Mega 2560 Bumper
thingiverse
I've scoured other bumpers available online, but none seemed to fit snugly on my Makerbot Replicator 2, no matter how many times I tried printing them. To overcome this issue, I took direct measurements from two of my Arduinos Mega 2560 boards and crafted my own bumper from the ground up. Two distinct versions emerged - a thick-walled one and a thin-walled counterpart. Interestingly, the thick-walled version proved more tenacious due to its sturdiness but had one significant drawback: it wouldn't fit back into its original packaging (#hard trade-offs). Instructions These bumpers were designed using AutoCAD Inventor LT Suite, with measurements meticulously taken from two Arduino Mega 2560 boards using precision digital calipers. The prototype underwent thorough testing on my Makerbot Replicator 2, under standard print settings (1 shell and 10% infill) and quality setting. I exclusively used high-quality Makerbot filament throughout the experiment. This endeavor was prompted by numerous other bumper designs that fell short when printed on my printer due to inaccuracies in size specifications.
