Arduino Foot Pedal

Arduino Foot Pedal

thingiverse

Compact, modular foot pedal and 2-button case for Arduino Leonardo or Uno-R3. Note: Uno does not support native usb-MIDI or keyboard, requiring a firmware flash for use in this way. The pedal prints in one piece with the incorporated hinge. Printing flat produces better results, but it can also be printed on its side to save space on smaller printers; the hinge becomes stiffer that way, though my test print still worked fine. I purchased Gikfun 12mm Waterproof Push Button Momentary On-Off Switches from Amazon. They feature 12 mm threads and have held up pretty well under the foot pedal despite feeling a bit cheap. I am using this setup as an actuator for the VR kick drum and hi-hat in Paradiddle, with the top two buttons serving as mic mute and channel mute controls in Discord. To space out the pedals further, I used extra-long leads in my earlier test version. The code can be found at https://pastebin.com/M658ZhEj. Update (2019-06-21): I added optional links for hooking up 2 or 3 pedals. Update (2019-07-14): Code fixes included changing the pedal to USB-MIDI output, improving kick drum performance, and making sure hi-hat works properly.
