Arduino coaster
pinshape
Hello! I've created a custom Arduino coaster to hold my drink. I use an Arduino (clone) for my YouTube tutorials. I source my microcontrollers from China (Shenzhen) because they're incredibly affordable. I also order sensors and start copying sketches and projects from YouTube, which is really fun. At Aliexpress, I purchase all this stuff for around €20 (~$22). Since Arduino is open-source, any company can recreate these microcontrollers. Of course, you can choose to buy an original Arduino to support the brand directly. This coaster has a standard size (100x100x5mm) to fit my coaster holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3130397 I printed this model using Ultimaker white PLA and Ultimaker silver metallic PLA with 0.2mm layer height, 18% infill, and a 0.4mm nozzle at 210°C. I used a heated bed to ensure the print adheres properly. To prevent curling at the bottom, I applied a brim. When printing with multiple colors, I pause the print when switching filaments and resume printing once the new color is loaded. Design Process I found a logo online and converted it into an SVG format using Inkscape. I then opened the file in Blender and created a 3D object from it. In Meshmixer, I repaired the model and removed some unnecessary parts. I also added a coaster to the design and merged it with the logo after scaling it. I saved the final model as a STL file and sliced it for printing using Netfabb Online Service. Although MakePrintable only offers three repair options, Netfabb has an unlimited number of procedures, making it my preferred choice. The model was successfully repaired and printed without issues.
