Arduino Base Board
thingiverse
My goal this year is to master using Arduino, so I purchased a starter kit containing an Arduino and a breadboard. To minimize fuss when experimenting, I built this compact base-board that securely holds both my Arduino and breadboard while I plug in various components to observe the effects. It also includes space for a 9V battery, which will come in handy once it's needed. This custom holder is comprised of two identical pieces cut from 3mm MDF wood and are connected with strong adhesive (a brown stain near the top results from spilled glue). The breadboard fits neatly within the designed compartment but doesn't have enough space to securely hold the Arduino, so I use Blu Tac or a similar material to keep it in place. Arduinos typically follow standardized dimensions, yet you might need to enlarge the compartment size based on your breadboard's specific needs. If you decide to make your base-board using thicker materials than 3mm MDF, adding a cutout for cables to your Arduino will ensure all necessary connections are accessible.
