Arduino and Ramps Enclosure for Prusa i3
thingiverse
Keep it neat! Case designed specifically for the brains of the printer with cooling fan. Made to fit snugly around the Arduino Mega and RAMPS 1.4 shield as well as a 60 mm cooling fan with enough space between for cables. A convenient hole on the door is available for mounting a horizontal trim pot wired in series with the fan to control its speed (470 ohm was used, but 350 ohm would probably work better). Added the RepRap logo and Open Hardware logo as ventilation holes to prevent overheating issues. Since there are no holes on the build plate side of the box, interference with prints won't occur. Sufficient space is allowed for the LCD screen cables and shield. This enclosure mounts securely onto the frame through the Arduino mounting holes. UPDATED FROM VERSION 1 IN PICTURES: Modified the entire case to make it wider for easier ramps installation. Increased the size of the Reprap decal so that the reset button can be easily accessed through it. Printed in PLA without any supports needed (some minor supports were included in the CAD model for the "i3" emboss, which you can remove or leave intact).
